What causes excessive sweating?

Sweating is a perfectly normal response from our bodies when we get hot - for example during warm weather or after physical exercise. Sweat allows our body to cool down by evaporating from our skin

Although sweating does not usually cause any issue, a condition known as hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating can be uncomfortable or sometimes embarrassing for those experiencing it. It commonly affects the underarms, hands and feet. There is not always a known cause for hyperhidrosis although it is always worth visiting your GP who can refer you for tests if they think a medical condition is causing your excessive sweating

How can excessive sweating be treated?

If conservative measures such as strong antiperspirant deodorants and loose clothing have been unsuccessful, we can help! At Coral Aesthetics we use a series of small, safe injections  (the same neuromodulator used in anti-wrinkle injections) to stop excessive sweating. This treatment is highly effective from the first session, although a review appointment may be needed. Procedure time is approximately 30 minutes, there is minimal discomfort and results will last up to 6 months
