Why choose Dermal Fillers?

Do you have volume loss in the face resulting in deep lines, folds or sagging skin? Or do you simply wish to enhance or restore your facial features? Dermal fillers are great for creating volume and treating moderate to severe lines typically in the mid to lower face. You can also contour the cheeks and jawline, define features such as the lips and balance the facial profile by tweaking the nose and chin.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers refer to a wide variety of treatments using a product containing Hyaluronic Acid. Despite its name, Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring sugar molecule. This unique molecule binds with water, therefore plumping and hydrating the skin. Over 50% of the HA in our body can be found in the dermis where it provides natural moisture and hydration.

Dermal fillers are a synthetic version of HA which can be injected into the different layers of the skin to help improve volume loss, contour the face, correct asymmetry and improve the appearance of skin in general. They are a clear gel-like substance that come in sterile syringes ready for injection. Sometimes they can contain local anaesthetic too, making this treatment relatively comfortable throughout. Brands you may be familiar with include Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal, Belotero and MailLi. Coral Aesthetics uses a selection of these premium dermal filler products and brands tailored to the unique needs of the client.

How long does treatment last?

The results of your treatment will be immediate however it will take up to 2 weeks to see the final result. This is due to some swelling in the area following injection, which typically improves after 3 or 4 days. You can expect your dermal filler to last at least 3-4 months for your first treatment, however this depends on the area being treated and how long it takes for your body to break down the filler. Some fillers, for example those used in the cheek or jaw, are designed to last longer and can last up to 18 months or beyond. Nurse Coral will advise you at your appointment a rough expectation on how long your treatment should last for.
