TAGS & MILIA
What Causes Skin Tags?
Skin tags are small, benign growths that form due to excess collagen and blood vessels in areas where skin rubs against skin or clothing. They are most commonly found on the neck, underarms, and eyelids. Milia are tiny, white cysts that form when keratin becomes trapped beneath the skin’s surface, often around the eyes and cheeks. While skin tags are usually harmless, milia can appear as white bumps on the skin. Both conditions can be treated with non-invasive procedures like cryotherapy, laser removal, or gentle extraction.
How Can Skin Tags Be Treated?
These benign skin lesions are very easy to remove, thanks to Cryotherapy and a special device named CryoPen. Occasionally, these little lesions will disappear on their own. For the more persistent skin tags and milia, one of the most effective and minimally invasive ways to treat them is with cryotherapy.
A small amount of liquid nitrogen is carefully applied directly to the skin tag using a precision applicator or spray. The tissue freezes rapidly, often turning white or frosted for a few seconds. Over the next few days, the tag may darken, dry out, and fall off naturally, usually within 7–14 days. Cryotherapy is quick, safe, and typically requires no stitches or scarring.
At Coral Aesthetics, we use safe and effective cryotherapy methods to remove skin tags in our London, Essex, and Kent clinics. All procedures are carried out by a trained medical professional to ensure precision and safety. Book your consultation today to discuss the best treatment for your skin concerns.
