What Is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy for Lesion Removal is a quick, effective, and minimally invasive treatment that a device called CryoPen. A targeted stream of liquid nitrogen is applied directly to the lesion, rapidly freezing the tissue. The extreme cold causes controlled damage to the cells, leading them to die off and naturally shed in the following days. The surrounding healthy skin remains largely unaffected.

It’s commonly used to treat Skin tags, Age spots, Warts, Seborrheic keratoses, Cherry angiomas, Sun spots and certain benign moles (when suitable).

Safety & Professionalism

At Coral Aesthetics, your safety is our top priority. All cryotherapy treatments are carried out by our NMC-registered Nurse Prescriber with advanced training and years of clinical experience. Before any lesion removal, a full consultation is conducted to assess suitability, ensure the lesion is benign, and provide tailored advice. Our medically-led approach ensures your treatment is safe, professional, and aligned with the highest standards of care.

What Is The Process?

The procedure itself is very quick - usually just a few minutes per lesion. Including consultation and prep, your appointment may take 15–30 minutes in total. Most clients describe the sensation as a sharp, cold sting or mild discomfort during the freezing process, which only lasts a few seconds. Any post-treatment discomfort is usually minimal and short-lived.

You may notice some redness, blistering, or scabbing as the lesion heals, which can take 7–14 days depending on the area and lesion type.

Often, one session is enough, but some lesions may require a follow-up treatment depending on their size, location and response.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

  • How many sessions will I need?
We recommend a course of 3-6 sessions to all of our clients in order to achieve the maximum benefit from Lemon Bottle treatment. This is what the manufacturers advise, and from our experience this is usually what is required to notice significant results. The way in which your body responds to treatment will be unique to you. Some of our clients have experienced results rapidly within the first few days following their treatment, however for the majority of people it takes a month to start noticing results. Your sessions will be spaced 1-4 weeks apart and Nurse Coral will tailor the treatment to you, including the number of vials used per session.
  • Is there any downtime?
Typically, downtime for fat dissolving injections can range from a few hours to a couple of days, depending on individual sensitivity and the area treated. Most clients find that any redness or swelling subsides within 24 to 48 hours. Bruises may take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve.
  • Am I suitable for fat dissolving injections?
While Lemon Bottle fat dissolving is suitable for most adults looking to address stubborn areas of fat, it may not be recommended for everyone. If you have certain medical conditions, allergies, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, it's important to consult with a qualified practitioner who can assess your suitability. Nurse Coral will assess your medical history and carry out a consultation prior to any treatment.
  • How long do results last?
The results of fat dissolving treatments, such as those using Lemon Bottle or other similar products such as DesoLab or Aqualyx, are generally long-lasting. Once the fat cells are broken down and removed by your body’s natural processes, they do not return to the treated area. This means that, with a balanced lifestyle, the results can be permanent.
